Usually you find French fashion prints of ladies in dresses. These illustrate hairstyles and lace accessories, one dated 1873. They are from two of the leading fashion magazines published in Paris in the 19th century. One is from Le Bon Ton and the other is from Journal des Demoiselles.
Both have a lovely creamy background of aging without fixing. They are double matted exposing a rosy inner liner. The top mat perfectly matches the background color. They have been sympathetically hand colored so are quite eye catching. Nice to have a pair so well done. The framing is from the shops most expensive, classiest framer here in Richmond, Virginia, so they are exquisite
