The cover features a ship illustration on the ocean with a pale green background. Some fading of the illustration on the spine. Back cover is plain green with a pen scribble on the lower right corner. Eps are white with mild tanning and a paste on sticker that is torn. There is a soil spot on the lower margin of the "Contents" page. Pages 201-206 have bent upper right corners. No illustration opposite the title page. One color plate illustration on pg 337. 7 1/2 x 5", 420 pages + advertising.

Dark teal cloth cover with bright gilt decoration. Light discoloration along the lower right cover edge. Upper right cover corner is bent down. Some soiling / foxing on the title block. Spine is heavily darkened and gilt decoration is darkened. Back cover is plain teal and good. Book leans forward slightly. Eps are white with a small dark foxing spot. Title page has a color illustration of a man in a top hat. Interior pages are soft, white and well intact with light to moderate foxing throughout. The book includes several full page color illustrations. 169 pages, 7 3/8 x 5 3/8"
My Doggie and I by R.M. Ballantyne. Published by James Nisbet & Co, London. Cover features a ship illustration with pale green cloth. Cover has light soiling spots on the left cover and fading / rubbing of cover illustration. There is a small dent along the upper cover edge. Spine illustration of a ship has light rubbing. There is a carved line down the upper spine on the title block. Back cover is plain green with some light pressed lines. Eps are tanned with a heavy penciled signature of a former owner and a pressed private collection stamp. Title page is heavily tanned with a black and white illustration of a yorkie type dog on the frontispiece. There are a few additional black and white illustrations. Book leans forward slightly. Spine decoration is slightly faded and there are rubbed spots on the left spine corners. Back cover is plain teal and very good. Eps are white with light tanning and a small bookstore sticker. Photograph of a man in a play on frontispiece. A couple small soil spots in the cover margin. Page corner missing shops on pg 175. Book includes around three other photographs and an occasional upper right corner crease. Interior pages are soft, white and well intact. 361 pages, 7 1/2 x 5 3/8"
