Vintage 1970's Wool Mexican Rebozo, : Mexican women have used the rebozo for different purposes; they use it to comfort the pregnant with massages, during labor to help with the pain, as a way of support for the new mother & later to keep their babies close to them. It has been a symbol of Mexican identity for more than 400 years. It also can be used to look stylish and feminine to compliment your clothing or accessorize your outerwear. This rebozo is made of wool with colored yarns in shades of fuscia, torquoise, purple and yellow shops on a treadle loom. It is complimented with coordinated multi-colored fringe called rapacejos. It is a simply beautiful piece, with a few areas where fringe yarn has loosened a bit. It measures 6 1/2 feet long, 23 inches wide and dry cleaning is recommended.
