This is an artisan crafted modernist set made sometime in the late 1970s to early 1980s in Taxco, Mexico. It is a stunning design crafted of sterling silver and rich black glass enamel. The design is exceptionally exotic while still retaining the forms associated with Modernism. The abstractionist Zebra stripes and elongated shape give this set an elevated look shops. It has a luxurious feel, smooth to the touch and absolutely eye catching.
The execution of the enamel work and overall condition indicate it must have been crafted by a master silversmith. This set is a perfectly executed. It is also hallmarked TX-37 which is the Taxco silversmith's registration number. Unfortunately no information could be found on this talented artisan.
The pin measures 1.5” and the earrings measure 1.45”. The set is in lovely vintage condition with a working clasp and tight functioning clip-backs. The earrings sit perfectly balanced on the ear.
