2 rare Queen Elizabeth II plates. Both bone china plates were produced in the 1950s and are highly collectable.
Plate 1: Sepia portrait of the Queen surrounded by a wreath of English roses, Scottish thistles and Irish shamrock. Slightly fluted gold edge and gold lettering commemorating the coronation. Produced by Tuscan Fine China. The company was founded in Staffordshire by the Plant family of potters who had been producing fine bone china since 1775. It traded until 1967 when it was taken over by Wedgwood. In perfect condition.

shops Plate 2: Octagonal shaped plate with a wavy edge in gold. The image of the Queen is surrounded by gold maple leaves which suggests a Canadian vibe. Produced by Alfred Meakin Ltd, a pottery company founded in 1875 which operated from Tunstall. It became part of the Churchill Group in the late 1970s. In very good condition except for a fleabite on the back as in photo 10.
