Antique French jewellery box, trinket box, dresser box. shops Chunky bevelled glass brass velvet jewellery casket with bevelled glass lid

Stunning, slightly larger than the normal little trinket, pill box. Casket made from brass with chunky bevelled glass lid, very typical of the French style. It has four decorated feet and a scrolled clasp on the lid. The bevelled glass is held in with a brass claw surround. The body is clad in a faded green shops, beige velvet and it is lined in the same on the inside and underneath.
It measures 14cms (5 1/2") long x 10cms (4") deep x 9cms 3 1/2" tall approximately.
As with all my items it is in the lovely timeworn condition you would expect from an item of this age. The brass is tarnished (but would clean up) it has some marks on the velvet. The velvet is a little frayed around the edges. The glass has some minor surface scratches. Please study the photos for a fuller description.
