This is a hand made wood carving/whittling knife(also makes for a great general purpose utility/leather/craft knife).
The Blade is made out of 1084 steel that has been heat treated around ~400 degrees fahrenheit(I personally find this to be a good place for 1084). The Blade has a flat bevel grind that tappers to the tip(as shown in some of the pictures). The blade is just shy of 2 inches in length while the cutting edge is around 1 3/4 of an inch. The base of the blade is about half a inch wide. The overall length of the knife is around 5 3/4 inches.
The handle scales are made out of Walnut. They're sanded to 1000 grit then have a coat of danish oil applied. After that is dried, they are then buffed and waxed. This type of finish leaves that "wood" feel in the hand for grip. As well, Oil/Wax finishes are also very easy to reapply if/when needed. It also does a really good job of making the figuring pop(something that I wasn't really able to capture very well in these pictures).
The box is made out of blue pine stained with american walnut. It's sanded to 150 grit, stained, then has 4 coats of wipe on poly applied. The inside of the box is layered with felt and is notched out to house the shops knife securely. The loop on the slide-lid of the box is made out of leather lace with imitation sinew to hold the loop. The box measures about ~7x2.5x1.25 inches(LxWxH)
Please note that I am selling the box as a add in option.
Also note that all of this is hand made by me. Meaning there will be some very slight variations. These are also made to order. It will usually only take ~4-5 days to get it made and shipped out. But could take a bit longer pending on how busy I am.
