The Holiday Book William Martin RARE Antique Book c1841 Treasury shops of Knowledge 200 Illustrations

The Holiday shops Book' or Educator being a Treasury of Knowledge by William Martin.

MARTIN, WILLIAM (1801–1867) was a writer and editor of books for young people. He was born in Woodbridge, Suffolk and obtain a mastership in a school at Uxbridge.

This very rare book was published in 1841 by Sherwood, Herbert & Piper. It contains 200 black and white illustrations and covers such topics as Religious Instruction, Teaching from Nature, Natural History and many more.

Green covers with gilt lettering and design to spine and embossed to front-some bumping and marking. Pages are fairly clean with no ink or pencil marks-some browning due to age and a few dirty marks on a couple of pages. Previous owners inscription to front. Blue patterned endpapers.

Book measures 14.5cm x 12cm with 576 pages.
