(The Oddisee, description from 1999) The Oddisee is Emily's homemade techno-hybrid, fortune telling, advice giving, surveillance, broadcasting, and information highway device. This intricate mechanism was built by Emily combining the likes of her floating Magic Eightball (which is removable), a video camera, Oujia Board, antennae, laptop, Etch-A-Sketch, rotary phone, duct tape, and candles. She visits the Oddisee in the same fashion as someone would visit the Elders - to seek advice. This contraption is like alter Ego, diary, and computer all in one.

The Oddisee helps Emily illustrate her ideas to us by interpreting the information she collects – from dreams to actual data. The Oddisee is her voice of reason, and communicates to us through webpages and printouts, text on monitors, random emails, voice, and of course here mysterious kitty chatter!
