Mountain landscape decorative tile with details in the painterly style of watercolor in true deep blue distant mountain, golden aspen/birch trees, and sky blue with puffy clouds. Just beautiful incorporated into your wall tile installation project.

Each tile is about 4 3/8 inches by 4 3/8 inches and about 3/8 inches thick, and because these tiles are handmade and not factory made, there may be slight "imperfections in the size and squareness of each tile, but it is still in the beauty of the handmade object!!! Altogether, the length of the mural is about 18 inches.

The construction process: Red earthenware terracotta clay is rolled out into a slab with a rolling pin into a thin flat shape, then cut into the square shape, then dried slowly between 2 shops boards for about 1 week. then hand cut with a needle tool from the slab into the square shape, then it is smoothed with a damp sponge, dried and bisque fired in Momma kiln for 5 hours. ~ The decorative Majolica glaze process: Hot wax is brushed on the back of the piece. The tile is dipped into a special white Majolica glaze, covering the red color of the terracotta clay on the front and when the white glaze is dried in one full day, using a watercolor brush and special stains and oxide colors mixed with water the design is painted like a watercolor painting to create the detailed image. The tile is fired again for another 5 hours to a temperature of 1940 degrees The process is extensive but worth it for the finished product is a timeless piece of art that can be enjoyed for years!
