Rare and elegant French art deco globe vase in Betschdorf Alsace stoneware mounted as a table lamp. Circa 1930.
This striking lamp has a bold geometric designglazed in a cobalt and pale blue. It was made by Hubert Krumeich-Renny (1872-1944) and is signed on the base.
The lamp is 8" high + fittings and 7" wide. (20cm x 18cm). It takes a B22 bayonet bulb and has a bakelite switch and plug. Light shade not included.
Hubert Krumeich-Remmy (1872-1944) was one of the most important stoneware potters in Betschdorf. After studying at the Strasbourg school of Decorative Arts, he was the first to produce art pottery inspired by traditional Alsatian stoneware.
Excellent condition.
