Product code: Raku-glazed / Hand-thrown shops pitcher by Chris Cutino
Raku-glazed decorative pitcher with crackled finish by Chris Cutino. Great for dried flowers or as a standalone piece. Because of the nature of Raku, this pitcher is not water-tight.
Raku is a type of low-firing process that was inspired by traditional Japanese raku firing. Western-style raku usually involves removing pottery from the kiln while at bright red heat and placing it into containers with combustible materials. Once the materials ignite, the containers are closed. The colors are both unpredictable and stunning.
Raku pottery is not dishwasher safe nor is it water-tight. It is generally shops used as a presentation piece or as a decorative item.
