THE ARTIST
Karen Brussat Butler is a printmaker that specializes in lithography, watercolor drawings and artist books. Illustrating the lives of unique fictional characters in their own environments, she builds complex narratives through organic brushwork and vivid color. Since first exhibiting in 1977, she has collections in various museums nationwide including the Brooklyn Museum in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago. She won the Gold Medal in T.H. Saunders International Artist in Watercolor competition in the UK as well as mutliple awards from the American Watercolor Society in New York.
