Primary colors and greens and the white of the paper for the Adobe home. Deep blue matting, with narrow black frame, measures 11x18.
Not your typical clay color Adobe, my imagination having fun with the architectural style I like so much. Usually found in warm climates with cactus with bright red flowers, and shops dried red pepper decorations. After visiting New Mexico, as many artist will say, I was inspired and impressed with the indigenous art through out the state, the huge moon over the Rockies, the wild hares dashing over the bare landscape. All these memories inspired this watercolor. I paint in oils as well as watercolor and acrylic, so after designing the composition I felt it spoke to me as a watercolor. The freshness of the application of watercolor seemed to be the compliment to the imaginary style of the composition
