I believe that this is Oak
I do not believe this has nails in it at all. - Dove tailed and glue
Ot measures about 11" x 7" shops x 5.75" (Without cover)
With cover about 7.75: high
The opening measures about 8.25" x 5.25" x (inside 4.25" depth)

The last ring looks like a heart to me. So maybe you could use it for wedding, valentine or sweetheart gift
