Personalizable leather blank book, with optional custom title page, original ceramic button shops closure. A journal, diary, sketchbook.

This book is another of my favorites. It is carefully crafted in the traditional way, with pages sewn in place, snugly and securely, with strong waxed linen thread. The spine has grooves cut in the leather, so that the exposed stitching can be recessed into the leather, to protect it. I think that makes the spine of the book very beautiful.

The front page can be what is shown in the pictures, or it can be a custom image and text. The poem in the book that's now on my workbench, the one in the pictures, is this one:

Though travels
take me to
a different stopping place each night
the dream I dream is always
that same one of home.

The poem is by Ryokan, the zen monk poet of Japan, who lived 1758 - 1831.

The button is a hand-made, hand-fired ceramic button, with a coffee-bean texture, made by my wife, the ceramic artist Fay Jones Day ( https://www.etsy.com/sg-en/shop/fayjonesdaytile ).

Like most leather which has not been processed to shops death, the leather of this book has some imperfections -- minor scuff-marks, mainly.

This is a *very* durable book, made by a craftsman with decades of experience.

Because of natural variations in leather, the book you receive will look somewhat different from the book in the pictures.

NOTE: The hand-made bamboo ink pen in the last image is *not* included.

SHIPPING: I ship via USPS Priority Mail, which gets things anywhere in the US in typically two to four days. International orders typically take a week to ten days to reach their destination.
