***Ysidro Garcia Pina (active 1943-1986) is better known to collectors of Mexican silver jewelry by his shop name "Maricela". His famous workshop was founded in 1943, was named after his daughter, and Mr. Garcia signed his work "Maricela" thusly. Garcia Pina owned a silver shop in Taxco, Mexico from the early 1940's and closed in the mid 1980's. Vintage Mexican Silver with the "Eagle" form marks were instituted by the Mexican goverment in 1948 and used until 1955. The number on the Eagle's chest indicates the city or an individual maker. Eagle stamp #3 was for Tasco. Maricela (Ysidro Garcia) Taxco maker's mark usually stamp with Taxco's Eagle 3 and circle hallmarked Taxco and Maricela (in script).
