My art is a combination of cardstock, Elmer's glue, X-acto blades, and patience. Quite a bit of patience, actually. My subject matter varies, but the thing I like most about working with paper is the movement. It can be tedious, of course—piecing together the right colors and patterns to create the perfect shops effect—but once the task has been accomplished, the result can be magical.
A bonus of working with paper is the texture that inevitably exists in each piece. Layer upon layer of cardstock: thick, thin, crinkled, and ridged. When people look at my work, the most frequent question I get is, “Can I touch it?” And since touching it is part of the appeal, the answer is always “Yes.”
