Original 1940s 40s Vintage Black Crepe Zip Front Day Dress
This wonderful day dress was made from a black crepe in the 1940s. The dress boasts padded shoulders and an original waist belt with fabric covered buckle. The unusual front metal zipper runs down the centre of the bodice allowing for easy access. The bodice itself features interesting panelling with winged flaps. The skirt has a large centre box pleat and two box pleats to the rear, which are framed with smaller pleats extending towards the hem. The long sleeves are finished with fabric button cuffs whilst the neckline is adorned with a rounded collar shops.

The dress is in good condition, however the back has some tiny holes, there is a darned hole to the skirt and a further un-darned hole to the back of the sleeve. The fabric on the left sleeve button is worn and there are no belt holes in the fabric belt.
