Chaire tea caddy with bulbous body without stand ring and a very short, straight neck. Yellowish and brown natural ash glaze over dark brown clay.
Signed on bottom: Kosen.

Matsui Kosen (b. 1928) is from Imbe. He graduated from the former Kibi Commercial High School. He studied under his mother, who was a female potter at Korakuen. In 1966 he started a kiln in Imbe, Bizen and became an independent potter.
