Vintage MCM 9” KNABSTRUP PItcher shops By Dietlinde HEIN

This is a vintage 9” handmade and decorated pitcher made by DIETLINDE HEIN for the Danish ceramics company KNABSTRUP. A very handsome piece beautifully decorated by HEIN.

DIETLINDE HEIN was part of a small group of German potters who moved to Denmark to work for KNABSTRUP. DIETLINDE and Inge Exner had just graduated as Keramische Gestalter für Form und Dekor at the Ceramic Study Center in Höhr-Grenzhausen near Koblenz when a delegation from KNABSTRUP visited the Center, and offered them jobs. Christine Konschak, who worked for Knabstrup 1965-1970 was also educated at Höhr-Grenzhausen. Inge Exner only worked for Knabstrup for a year, returning to Germany in 1961. DIETLINDE HEIN (1940-1977) worked for KNABSTRUP from 1960 through 1965, when she returned to Germany.

No chips, cracks, flakes, repairs or mineral deposits. Looks like this was used as just a decoration for the past 50+ years. A great addition to your mid-century pottery collection or just a great accent piece in your MCM home.
