Damascus of Lorsica:
The precious fabric was worked in Genoa as early as 1400 but, to circumvent the production limitations imposed by the powerful Textile Corporation, production in 1500 reached the village of Lorsica. Here in a short time artisan workshops were born whose production, of the highest quality, was used to furnish many European courts and sumptuous noble residences. In Lorsica, today as in the past, the precious fabric is produced with artisanal methods, in a tradition that has been handed down from generation to generation with absolutely extraordinary results. To obtain a piece 1.30 meters high, where the fabric does not appear flat, but in relief in the obverse and concave on the reverse, 15,000 threads must pass into the lyces (part of the frame that allows the movement of the warp threads).
