Bournemouth Gardens, signed original linocut print, yellow & grey TP.
Original linocut printed onto somerset cartridge (130gsm) with oil based inks.

This is an original two block linocut print which I made as one of several test prints before deciding on the final colours for the edition. I've used transparent inks to create this print, which enabled me to make use of the overlap between blocks to create additional colours. This print is signed and titled along the bottom in pencil. I've used a mustard yellow and a paynes grey in this print.
A different version of this print is currently on display as part of Poole Printmaker's exhibition at the Lighthouse in Poole.

The tradition of linocut is a relief printing method in which pieces of lino are cut away using special carving tools to create a design. The lino block is then inked up using a roller, and printed onto paper either by hand or using a traditional printing press. It's an entirely manual process, so some slight differences in the prints are to be expected. Each of these prints is the result of two separate blocks being carefully carved and printed.

This print is a perfect fit for a 40 x 50cm shops frame when mounted.

Sold unframed to reduce postage costs.
