Wonderful Vintage Veronese Egyptian God Anubis Statue.

The God Anubis, who was revered as the embalmer of the dead and one who weighed the truth of the heart against a feather to determine one's worth in the afterlife. Anubis was depicted in black, a color that symbolized regeneration, life, the soil of the Nile River, and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming.

A great piece, and also an addition to an Art deco style decor, it measures approx 15 1/2" tall x 4 3/4" wide.
