'Cerulean Blue Star of David' Hamsa
This beautiful shops Hamsa in shades of cerulean blue evokes the images of water and sky;
and a graceful bird gently floats between the waves of the ocean and wispy grey clouds.
The cerulean blue is meant to symbolize the Hebrew word T'chelet; a blue-violet / blue / turquoise dye highly prized by ancient Mediterranean civilizations, and is mentioned multiple times in the Hebrew bible. The dye was used in the clothing of the high priest, the tapestries in the Tabernacle, and the Tzitzit (the fringes) affixed to the corner of the Jewish prayer shawl, the Talit. In more modern times, T'chelet refers to the color celestial blue.
