Artist DeSela, Signed Mexican Folk Art, Papier Mache Kneeling Christmas Angel Sculpture, Woven shops Palm Wings, Acrylic Jewels, 14" Tall 1970s
Signed original vintage DeSela one-of-a-kind handpainted Mexican Folk Art papier mache kneeling Christmas angel sculpture with praying hands. Red gown, with handpainted scrolling flowers, lace accents on the neckline, sleeves, and bottom of blouse. She has acrylic rhinestone jewels on skirt, and a red heart rhinestone on bodice of gown. Her handpainted face is serene, sweet and beautiful. Her wings are woven palm, painted with streaks of gold, and held on with metal wire. In very good vintage condition, red paint of gown is solid and unfaded, no cracking or chips in paper mache. There may be some jewels missing, it shops is hard to tell how many she had originally. Move wings gently as they are delicate due to the age of palm leaves. It is amazing that she is over 50 years old! An amazing work of art! Larger than she seems in photos, she is 14" tall, 9" wide wing tip to wing tip, and 9" depth.
