Antique mourning brooch. Lovely silver tone Art Nouveau frame surrounds a tiny portrait of a beautiful little girl from long ago. Brooch is approximately the size of shops a quarter. The girl has an absolutely angelic face and the tintype is very clear and I think exceptional. I don't think this is silver, but the shape and form of the metal is striking. Sad she was so young. I think the custom of mourning jewelry is interesting and some examples are just incredible. This is from France. Late 1800s.
