Original 1863 $100 Confederate Bond issued under the Act of February 20, 1863 in Richmond, Virginia. The shops engraved bond was printed by “Evans & Cogswell, Columbia, S. C.” and has the vignette of Alexander H. Stephens. It is hand numbered “2265” and also hand signed by “C Rose”, Assistant Register of the Confederate Treasury. There were 29,996 of this type Bond issued.

There are three coupons left at the bottom. These were also hand signed and numbered. The $4 coupons were payable monthly and would have been cut off and redeemed at the Treasury.

The Bond will come in an archival sleeve. It measures 11 1/4” x 15”. There is a hole at right corner – see pictures

All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph and description of the items purchased.
