King shops fisher polymer clay cane brooch

This detailed king fisher brooch is made entirely from polymer clay through a process known as caning. There is no painting involved!
The process of caning involves creating the picture in 3d, a little like a large chunk of seaside rock, before it is squeezed and manipulated to reduce the design to a desired size.
The brooch features a single slice taken from from my king fisher cane.

This brooch has then been and sanded and buffed to satin finish before it is sealed with a micro crystalline wax, shops The back has been textured and stamped with the makers mark and finished with a silver coloured metal brooch back.
This piece measures just over 2 inches square.
