Antique Porcelain Sugar Bowl and Creamer Set in Aqua with Purple Violets and Gold Trim from Zeh, Scherzer & Co., Bavaria.
The mark on this lovely set dates it from 1880 to 1918, but the design most likely dates it to the late 1800's, very early 1900's. Founded in 1880, Zeh, Scherzer pieces are known for their incredible artwork and designs. The company continued to be privately owned until the 1990's.
This set is in incredible condition with only 3 small flaws, one small nick ( 1mm and not a crack or a chip, simply an indentation in the porcelain) as shown in the second last photo and minimal gold loss to each of the handles. The gold loss is barely visible but please click on the top view photos for a closer look and a 4mm are of paint loss to the purple splash just under the top edge, as seen in the last photo.
The creamer measures 5 1/2" shops handle to spout and 3 1/2" high.
The lidded sugar bowl measures 6" handle to handle and 3 3/4" high.
Mark is green Zeh, Scherzer & Co, Bavaria. I am happy to provide my research regarding backstamps and dates on any of pieces.
