Scottish Green Marble was formed over 600 million years ago when molten volcanic rock pushed up from deep inside the earth through the overlying limestone. The area these stones are found is one of the most remote parts in the Highlands and Islands. In Scotland this shops beautiful stone has been highly revered since prehistoric times. Local people carried small pieces for protection.
