40s 50s "Minx Modes" Dress XS, Vintage White Cotton Ditsy Floral Print shops Fit & Flare Openwork Sundress, Extra Small
shops This is an adorable late 1940s - early 50s sundress by "Minx Modes"! It has amazing details you just can't find in modern clothing! But it's not in perfect condition, so please be sure to see all the photos and read the full description below. This dress is crisp white cotton with a sweet ditsy, teeny flower print in blue, dark purple and dark green. The best feature is the eight rows of openwork, fagoted stitch lace cut outs, arranged in a chevron V design, at the front neckline. Have you ever seen anything cuter? It's sleeveless and has lots of shirring below the waist seam, flowing to a full sweep, below the knee skirt, which ends with a 3 inch hem allowance. There's a matching belt with a bow, and the back neckline is a tight square with eight more rows of openwork on each side and another fabric bow above the zipper. The dress closes with a 9 inch steel metal "Swift" brand back zipper, the back bow attaches with snaps and the belt has snaps also.
It's in fair to good, clean condition, freshly laundered, with two issues. There is a light orange rust type of stain measuring about 2 inches across, located 10 inches up from the hem on the front right skirt, that did not come out in the wash. The belt is discolored and the adjustable snaps on the belt do not all hold tightly - there are two snap holes, three snaps, and some combinations are quite loose. Overall the dress presents very well and is a charming example of mid century fashion. The label says "Minx Modes." For laundry care, we recommend hand washing separately and line drying for best results. It fits like a Women's size Extra Small and measures:
