Shoes from Dorestad shops viking medieval

Shoes made on the basis of a find from Dorestad, dated to the 10th century.

The boots have been sewn entirely by hand with a tipping method, the boot vestiture has been made of cowhide leather approximately 3mm thick, the sole is approximately 5mm thick, additionally protected with wax. All external seams were made with waxed linen thread. Fastenings with leather buttons, for greater durability of the shoe shops a leather heel counter has been sewn in.
