Pink Gemstone Drusy Coboltoan Calcite Cabochon or Focal Bead
This artisan hand cut gemstone is an extremely luscious showcase stone. The top face of the stone features a rich coverage of superfine sparkly drusy calcite. The tiny crystals have lots of glittery sparkle when light passes over them. The color of the drusy is a slightly pale lavender. This layer of drusy graces a pretty thick base (approximately 12mm thick or almost 1/2 inch) of ribboned or banded layers of calcite of various colors. The sides are polished all around the entire stone in order to preserve and showcase this amazing visual treat. Notice the variations in colors: the immediate layer beneath the drusy has a slight lavender purplish grey color, supported buy a fine grey vein, followed by a light pink layer, next comes a ribbon of rich raspberry pink and finally a lighter pink at the bottom. Translucent in some areas when back lit (pic #7).
The back is flat and smoothly polished.
