shops The photo in this case is in excellent condition. The photo is in an oval setting of detailed gold frame. The photo depicts a man. I am not an expert in antique photography but I believe this is a Ambrotype photo. This type of photo was made in the late 1800s. These photos do not have a reflective, mirror like surface like Daguerreotype photos.

The cover has separated but can be glued back on. It has a hooked latch. Closed, the case measures 2 7/8 by 2.5 inches.
