Melanesia South Pacific Carving~Trobriand W/ Mother Pearl Crocodile shops Carving 5"

This lovely hand carved piece is 5" long x 1.5" wide shops x 3/8" high and is made of a brown/black hard wood which appears to be Trobriand or African Blackwood from research. There are ten mother of pearl buttons on the eyes, shoulders, back and hind legs. This piece has been lovingly oiled with lemon oil.
