This unique necklace is made from high-quality, natural Blue Lace Agate gemstone. Subtle shades of pale blue layers and white crystalline bands make up this rare agate. Agates are found all over the world, but Blue Lace Agate comes from South Africa and to a lesser degree from Romania. I used three sizes of the stone: 8mm, 10mm, and 12 mm polished, round beads. Small round sterling beads are used as spacers. The Blue Lace Agates in this necklace are further enhanced by the addition of curved Hill Tribe Silver tube beads decorated with flowers and small decorative beads. There are also two curved Bali Silver tube beads adorned with a filigree design. In the center is a decorative sterling silver focal bead. What is Bali silver?
Unique to the island of Bali, Bali Silver is handmade by expert silversmiths, using traditional techniques that have shops been handed down through generations. Bali Silver is known for its distinctive granulation, its wirework, and filigree work. Thus, creating beautiful, intricately decorated, detailed beads and components. Bali Silver is made from Sterling Silver.

What is Hill Tribe Silver?
Hill Tribe Silver comes from northern Thailand and is sometimes called Thai Silver. Hill Tribe Silver is made by one of six Hill Tribes from silver that ranges between 95% and 99.9% pure. Since Thai Silver is softer than Sterling, so their designs are more uncomplicated. Nature designs are a frequent motif, often depicting subjects such as butterflies, leaves, and flowers, to name a few.

Sterling Silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% Copper. That's where you get the 925 that is stamped on Sterling Silver pieces. The copper strengthens the silver, which makes it stronger than Fine Silver (Pure Silver). With that added strength, you get the ability to make more intricate designs.

All silver tarnishes but Fine Silver (Pure Silver) tarnishes more slowly and not as badly as Sterling Silver.
