Pichon baskets, a specialty of the family, are made with clay cords that are woven like basketwork before being decorated with small clay flowers.
Pieces are dried, engobed and biscuit fired at 1100 C
Glaze applied shops and baked at 980 C to bring out the shine and color

Made with Kaolin (aka "China clay"), a soft white clay that is an essential ingredient in the manufacture of porcelain

Very good condition with no chips, cracks or color loss

Bottom reads "Christophe Pichon, Uze" and "Fait Main (hand made) Made in France"

Measures 7 3/4" diameter x 3 5/8" high
