Product code: 24×36 Sugar Shack shops Post and Beam Barn

Have you heard of a sugar shack? They have traditionally been found in Eastern Canada and Northern New England shops, housing maple syrup making. The characteristic cupola was used to allow steam to escape. Now you can create your own piece of history with this 24x36 post and beam sugar shack! You can use it for making your own maple syrup, or a workshop, guest house or adorable tiny home!

This 24x36 sugar shack gets a lot of charm from the king post trusses and traditional joinery. You will be proud to show off the pegged mortise and tenon joints and the scarf and spline joints. If you like, add windows or small doors to the cupola to add ventilation and light.

This frame measures 34' - 1 ¾” x 22' - 11 3/4” from outside to outside of the posts, which gives you 784 square feet under roof. The overhangs are 1'-6”on the gable ends, and 2'-6”on the rafter ends.

The 8:12 pitch roof starting out from over 12' plates gives you lots of ceiling height - the top of the cupola stands at 25'-0 7/16” high!
