Made from one solid piece of 5160 High Carbon Steel, this piece was artfully hand forged to its finial shape without the use of power tools in the traditional blacksmith style. After the blade is forged to shape, it undergoes 2 annealing cycles too reduce grain structure in the steel, improving edge retention and toughness. After that, it is brought up to critical temperature and quenched in oil to harden the blade. Then it undergoes 2 rounds of tempering at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour each. This further relaxes the steel as well as taking away the brittleness of the steel caused by quenching. Each blade is then hand honed on stones to a razors edge. And finally, the handle is wrapped in genuine cow leather.
