Product code: 12 Little Sisters - Lucy's Book, by S. B. Holly shops and 'Aunt Fanny'. Illustrated. 1st Edition, 1st printing.

Frances Elizabeth Barrow (pen name,'Aunt Fanny'; February 22, 1822 – May 7, 1894) was an American author of children's stories, including the series 'Night Caps', 'Mittens', 'Socks', 'Little Pet Books', 'Pop-Guns' & '12 Little Sisters'.

The volumes in this last series were co-authored by her daughter Sarah, with the authors listed as "Mrs. S. B. Holly [Sarah's married name] and Aunt Fanny." Apparently written after Sarah's conversion to Catholicism, 'Twelve Little Sisters' is one of the few nineteenth-century girls series highlighting the Roman Catholic faith. The publisher, D. & J. Sadlier, specialized in Catholic literature.

Sarah stopped writing after the publication of this series. Although the series was published in the United States and England, no copies shops appear to have been preserved in American libraries and only one set in England, suggesting very limited circulation. She passed away in 1906, at a private hospital in Summit, New Jersey.
