An interesting biography on the Countess of Blessington, Marguerite Gardiner. Gardiner was an Irish novelist and literary hostess, known for her generosity, charm, wit, and extravagant tastes.
Gardiner was friends with Lord Byron, after they met in Genoa just a year before his death. Their meetings gave her the material to write her best known work, 'Conversations with Lord Byron'.
