Vintage pre War Egyptian manufactured Grand Tour Collectible shops Coptic Jar featured after an ancient Sarcophagus of a Pharaoh, manufactured in turned stone (likely a form of slate) the jar is lidded and etched/cut with hieroglyphs to the body.
Overall very good condition for age, no cracks, chips or damage.
Was likely brought back to England during the period as a collectible piece from Cairo, Gaza or similar.
makes for a fine decorators piece as well as serving for a variety of uses,.
The jar with lid in place stands 12 cm tall with a maximum diameter to the body of 6.8 cm.
