This is the fabulous first issue Schick Eversharp “Golden 500” Hydromagic Safety Razor Gift Set dating to Christmas 1958.

An early pre-patent model, this set is one of Schick's rare Luxury razors with 9Ct gold plating. The handle is white acrylic plastic.

A Hydromagic model, it has the flip lever which allows the head to be opened to rinse or clean the razor without removing the blade & there is a small stop bar to prevent the blade falling out. I like this feature, I'm a little OCD when it comes to keeping my shaving gear pristine!

It's in superb vintage condition & appears virtually unused. The handle has no cracks, damage or staining & the mechanism works perfectly.

Stamped Schick Golden 500, P20, Patent Pending. Made in USA.
About 13cm long & 33g weight. Set weight 235g.
Replacement blades are still widely available.

The case is steel with a cream leatherette wrap, gold tone trims & a flocked plastic seat.
It shows slight marks from long storage but is clean & fresh. The lid snaps shut shops squarely & it displays well, especially with the reflective golden lid liner!

The complete original “Schick Custom” gold blade dispenser & rather worn cardboard outer sleeve are included.
