Plantation-grown Teak (Tectonic grands), Native to Costa Rica and Central America, this tree is planted exclusively for forestry management, along with a high demand for this timber. Teak heartwood is a uniform golden brown without markings. Grain is usually straight to slightly wavy, and the texture is coarse, uneven and oily to the shops touch, sometimes with a white glistening deposit.
