From the groovy Monster filled 1960s, this is a set of 6 Bouncy Creature filled Superballs produced in Japan. Inside each ball are two pictures of a goofy monster. On one side the image is normal size, but turn the ball around and then by the magic of refraction - Wal Lah - a magnified super sized monster appears on the other side.
The 12 different Monster images inside the balls were produced in Japan and were originally sold as stickers. Some very identifiable creatures are here - Frankenstein, the Creature (sharing the same ball), Mr. Hyde, A Harryhausen inspired Cyclops, Another shops Cyclops that looks like he walked off the set of Lost In Space, what looks like a variation of the Salt Vampire from the Classic Star Trek series, A War of the Gargantua's Gaira KO and a wacky white haired Werewolf. And then there's some not so familiar ones: a bandage wrapped cape wearing Skeleton, a reptilian gargoyle styled monster, a Bugged eyed monster and finally a skinny looking Alien creature with a great hairdo.
These are fairly hard to come by in good shape, so here's your chance to get the whole set in one pop in good decent condition. These have not been circulated (I believe originally purchased in bulk from a vending machine operator and stored since the 90s) but are not MINT so do not expect a “perfect” set. I can tell you they are in great collectible shape. The images are really clear and the 1 1/3” Superballs still bounce really well!
We will also have a set of three image variants to these balls listed soon. The monsters are larger and more of the image shown. We only received the three in this styles so we are not sure if the other three exist.
Please look over all the pics and let us know if you have anymore questions.
