This is an original limited edition etching of the London's Chelsea Bridge at dusk on the river Thames seen from Chelsea embankment. It is sold unframed, the framed picture is as a guide only.
The print was made using a zinc plate which was prepared with an Aquatint, this is a dusting of resin which forms a pourous surface which is heated until is melts and sets, areas of the plate are blanked out where shading is not required and then the plate is placed in an acid bath, allowing the exposed areas of the zinc to be 'etched' by shops the acid, creating the image. The plate is then inked up with the two different coloured inks and run through a hand operated printers press.
