Dark Walnut Square shops cutting/serving board

All of our boards are made from reclaimed hardwoods, sourced locally and air dried for one year per inch of thickness. Air drying is preferable to kiln drying for maintaining quality, especially in figured wood. Oregon's mild climate and iron rich soils lead to exceptional color. Each piece is unique, with patterns, created by nature, that rival those of abstract expressionist painters. Since the pattern goes through the whole slab, you might choose to use it as a cutting board, in which case it will take on the patina of age, with shops small nicks and scratches adding character. Simply hand wash with soapy water and treat every so often with mineral oil (available at most drug stores).
