All solid brass trivet with wood handle. Features an adjustable fire screen support.
The handle is a very dark hard wood and is not loose.
The well documented collectable James Cartland and Sons monogram is well represented.
Interestingly, according to the OldCopper Web Site the use of registration numbers superseded the traditional diamond style at the end of 1883 starting with No 1 in 1884.
So if the number 09047 is a design registration number the year of manufacture would be 1885. FYI
