I painted this in January of 2002 in response to the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers in NYC. It was something I felt compelled to do, and I named it, City Guardian.
The idea was a moon-like character overlooking and protecting a very colorful and shops vibrant island city.
It is an original acrylic painting on canvas, measuring 20in x 16in x 7/8in, and weighs 1.3 lbs. For hanging, I used a super-strong and durable twine that is still in perfect condition.
The colors are as vibrant as they were 20 years ago, even though I never varnished the painting. It has also never been exposed to direct sunlight. If you would like, I can apply a coat of high-quality acrylic varnish at no extra charge.
No copies of this work have ever been produced (apart from the photos in this listing).
My family and I have enjoyed it for many years and I'm ready to part with it.
